DuPage County – also known as the 18th Judicial Circuit – has the second largest court system in the state of Illinois. There are 320,000 new cases filed in DuPage County every year.

The main DuPage County Courthouse is located in Wheaton at 505 N. County Farm Road. There are approximately 15 circuit judges, who are elected, as well as 26 associate judges, who are appointed. These judges are assigned to various departments, including felony, misdemeanor, traffic, law (civil lawsuits for money), chancery and domestic relations. All cases are heard at the main courthouse, with the exception of some traffic cases that are heard at satellite locations.
